Item Description

A wonderful and uncommon, non-Alpine-type "Iron Rose" of hematite from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The parallel-growth, hexagonal blades on this specimen have excellent, splendent, metallic silvery-grey faces forming the classic "rose" shape that makes these specimens so desirable. The excellent, older piece is complete all-around and has only a few, barely noticeable, broken blades. Few of such form come out, in good condition, and most date to the 1960s or 70s. This is an excellent example and compares very favorably with the style of (more expensive!) European Alpine pieces.
