Item Description

A classic specimen of hematite kidney ore from the famous Parkside Mine. This choice two-sided piece well displays the lustrous, rust-brown to rust-red, botryoidal shape that connotes this classic hematite form. The two sides are strikingly different, with variable color and botryoid shape. This historic iron mine was active from 1855-1925 and specimens of this quality are quite rare. Ex Cambell Collection of Frizington and Ralph Sutcliffe Collection, noted English collector and dealer. Valued at $500.
