Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are rare from the less well-known Matachewan area of Ontario. Large, luminous, grayish-black, hematite botryoids, "kidney ore", rest on a banded hematite crust on this sculptural, large specimen. It resembles classic material from the famous iron mines of Cumbria, England, Wisconsin or Michigan. Excellent and rare material from the Robert Nowakowski Collection.
