Item Description
A rare and impressive CABINET plate from this obscure Massachusetts roadcut locale at a major freeway intersection. Highly lustrous, translucent, hematite-tinted, caramel-colored calcite scalenohedrons are festooned on the undulating limestone matrix. The doubly terminated large crystal is 2.2 cm. This obscure locality is not mentioned in MINDAT. Ex Schlichter Collection and was probably self-collected. A unique piece, unless this is the Route 62 locality referenced in MINDAT.
