Item Description

Hematite specimens from this area of the Binn Valley are not very common. A splendent, sharp, 1.8 cm, tablular crystal is aesthetically set on the gneiss matrix. A very glassy K feldspar variety adularia crystal rests against the hematite and the gneiss face is covered with smaller adularias and a couple of quartz crystals. Classic and excellent older combination material from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and obtained in an exchange in Zurich in 1974.
