Item Description

Some of the world's finest Hemimorphite specimens have come from the Santa Eulalia District in Mexico. These specimens are some of the most aesthetic and eye catching pieces from any Mexican locality. This specimen features translucent to gemmy, very sharp, rather lustrous / vitreous, prismatic crystals of Hemimorphite forming "spray"-shaped groups (the largest of which measures 2.5 cm) aesthetically sitting on gossan matrix. For the size, quality and overall aesthetics of this specimen, it is a great Mexican display piece from this classic locality. VERY little damage. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogne of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #352) with a label from Werner Grozinger of Stuttgart, Germany. Bedogne wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
