Hemimorphite (fine blue color) (2020 discovery)

Over the past few decades, but also in very recent years, there have been a few important discoveries of attractive blue Hemimorphite from a few localities in the renowned copper deposits in Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville). This piece comes to us from a pocket that we acquired in May of 2020 from the M'Fouati Mine. These new specimens have excellent color and the vast majority of the pieces are good sized display specimens. This small cabinet sized piece features a coverage of beautiful rich sky blue colored botryoidal Hemimorphite on the underlying matrix A very attractive and fine quality example of these beautiful new specimens. This is copper-bearing material, and it shows very slight translucency when backlit.
