Hemimorphite (rare faceted stone)

Hemimorphite is not considered a rare mineral, but in the gem world, it's quite rare. The species is often found in crystals that are not gem quality, and even when gem material is found, it's very limited. I've seen plenty of cabochons of Hemimorphite from various world localities, but gem quality faceted stones are exceedingly rare in my experience. This stone is a wonderful, colorless "brilliant scissors" cut gem with excellent clarity (nearly eye clean). You'd be hard-pressed to find another like it on the market, and don't be discouraged by the smaller size, as nearly all of the gem quality Hemimorphites I've had to offer over the years were under 1 carat in weight.
