Item Description

Very rich, aesthetic and sculptural old-time hemimorphite with calcite from famed Mina Ojuela. Striking sheaves of very glassy, translucent, colorless hemimorphite blades are richly and dramatically scattered on the sculptural limonite matrix. The sheaves reach 1.5 cm on this outstanding smaller cabinet. Scattered calcite crystals are a nice accessory. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1157 and acquired from the George Burnham (Burminco) private collection in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic, excellent old-time SELDOM on the market Ojuela hemimorphite.
