Item Description

Henrymeyerite is an extremely rare barium titanium iron oxide that is only found in a few world localities - most of which are in Russia - but it was actually found at Oasis Dzetti in Antarctica! The species was named in 2000 after Professor Henry Meyer of Purdue University. This piece is the only specimen of Henrymeyerite that we've had to offer in the auctions. You can see tiny black spots of Henrymeyerite next to the small paper arrow. If you collect rarities, you cannot afford to miss out on this exceptionally rare specimen, as it is virtually impossible to obtain on the market. As I mentioned, this is the ONLY piece of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
