Item Description

Grossular garnet variety hessonite and clinochlore specimens of this quality and richness are uncommon from the famous Bellecombe area of Italy. Striking, large, pearlescent, greenish-gray, pseudo-hexagonal, clinochlore platelets dominate the crest and are surrounded by scintillating, tiny, rich cinnamon-orange, hessonite garnets. The rest of the plate is covered with tiny, sparkly, clinochlore crystals on this very aesthetic and showy piece from the Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and was acquired in 1979.
