Item Description

A very aesthetic and sculptural displays from Pune (Poona). A classic and striking, lustrous, sharp, well-formed, beautiful salmon-red group of Heulandite blades is set on the chalcedony-coated basalt. The pristine heulandite measures 3.7 cm at its longest dimension and is beautifully accented with small stilbite blades. Most Heulandite you'll see from around the world is either white or begie, and these beautiful red colored Heulandite crystals are common, even in India. Indian Zeolites may still be fairly common on the market, but you cannot deny the fact that they are colorful, attractive, highly displayable and several of them are the finest examples of their respective species extant ! Valued in the inventory at $1,500. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007. You can read Steve's bio on the Mineralogical Record website ( https://mineralogicalrecord.com/biographies_labels/smalestephen/ ) or on Wikipedia.
