Item Description

Hewettite is a very rare hydrated calcium vanadate. This striking specimen is from a VERY rare occurrence in Oregon, perhaps UNIQUE. A sculptural, 1.2 cm cluster of lustrous, reddish-brown acicular crystals is dramatically set on the crest of the quartz-rich matrix wedge. Vugs on both sides of the angled vein protect more clusters on this very uncommon species. This is a stunning, very rich and large example of the species, for ANY worldwide locale! Ex John White Collection of Seattle.
