Item Description

Hodgkinsonite is a very rare manganese, zinc silicate found only in the Franklin Mining District of New Jersey. This piece is from the well-known New Jersey collection of George Elling and hosts two parallel veins with small, sparkling, rose-pink crystals of hodgkinsonite with very sculptural, protruding masses of hackly native copper on typical Franklin matrix. This is a very rarely seen combination piece from this renowned locality.
