Hornblende (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Please note: This specimen was labeled as coming from Capelinha, but I can't find a listing of Hornblende coming from this locality. With that said, this piece is a beautiful and unusual specimen featuring lustrous, prismatic, chocolate brown crystals of Hornblende in a flowing formation. I can't say I've seen to many specimens of Hornblende from Brazil, and this one is certainly good quality and very hard to find on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9069). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
