Item Description

A remarkable and beautiful combination specimen from a recent find at the famous Huanzala Mine. A stunning, porcupine quill, plate of water-clear quartz spikes dominated by the striking, 3.2 cm bent quill is aesthetically accented with lustrous, sharp, striated, jet-black, hubnerite crystals to 1.9 cm. You can see the hints of red in the hubnerite crystals in bright light. Siderite is a rare accessory at Huanzala, but this piece features scattered clusters of straw-yellow microcrystals as a startling contrast. Huanzala hubnerite and quartz specimens of this quality have not been found for 20-25 years. The quartz crystals are in super condition, with just a few broken crystals on the periphery. Valued at $400-600.
