Item Description
Hydroboracite is a rare hydrated borate and this expressive large specimen is from a well-known inactive German anhydrite mine. A stunning, 11.7 x 8.3 cm, radial spray of very glassy, translucent, vitreous luster, elongated and flattened blades, to 7.2 cm dramatically dominates this showy and very rich piece. Smaller sprays are a fine complement on the massive anhydrite matrix. The Kohnstein Quarry is well-known for several rare borates and this is an outstanding large example of the radial style of hydroboracite.
