Item Description

Very glassy, transparent to translucent, colorless, tabular tetragonal Hydroxyapophyllite-(K) are richly strewn on the basalt matrix plate. The large crystal is 1.9 cm. The famous 1967 find at the Fairfax Quarry produced the finest US apophyllites. The interior is pristine and the noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this rich specimen. A highly representative example of the species and famous find.
