Item Description

This obscure Virginia Traprock quarry is known exceptional apophyllite-(KOH) crystals, but specimens of this richness and high quality are RARE. Glassy, translucent, sharp, tabular tetragonal crystals are festooned jackstraw-style on the basalt matrix crust. The dramatic large and pristine prism is 4.3 cm across. Pastel-green prehnite peers out along the edges of the piece adding pizzazz and color. Outstanding and rare material from the Buck Keller Collection and probably dating to the 1960s. A MUST for the species or Virginia collector.
