Item Description

A very hard to find specimen of Hydroxylherderite from the Alto Benedito pegmatite in Paraiba, Brazil. The piece features good quality, sharp, lustrous, prismatic, soft silvery colored crystals of Hydroxylherderite measuring up to 1.9 cm long sitting on blocky Albite matrix with small groups of silvery-golden colored Muscovite. The main Hydroxylherderite crystal is pristine and very well-formed, while the secondary crystal is contacted. If you collect gem pegmatite species or minerals of Brazil this is a great opportunity to pick up a specimen from a hard to find locality! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9195). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
