Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY variety are rare from the localities in Saluda County and from this extinct mica mine. Solid, massive to platy, lustrous to matte-finish, dark metallic-gray ilmenite is richly and attractively covered on two sides with books of pearlescent muscovite plates. Not pretty to look at, but this is rare, highly representative, probably old-time combination material from this locale. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. A must for the locality or species collector.
