Imperial topaz from Ouro Preto, Brazil is a Holy Grail topaz varietal, most collectors look for. This classic, gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, complete all-around, striated crystal has beautiful, golden-orange color and excellent luster and fire. The steeply angled termination face has interesting etching, unlike most pieces from this locality. This is an excellent quality crystal. The bit of internal crazing adds much character. You can barely see the trivial termination and side wear. 8 grams. Valued at $350-450. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! We found this set-aside lot in the move, and I had bought it years ago in a large deal. I cannot replace them today for prices they go for here.
