Item Description

A remarkably rare and BEAUTIFULLY crystallized example of the rare borate species, Inderborite which has only been found in four places in the world! The few examples I've seen of this mineral were broken or massive chunks with no crystal form, but THIS piece is amazingly attractive as it hosts well-defined, isolated euhedral crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm on matrix. The crystals are oriented into a "spray"-like shape and the vast majority of them are damage free. FINE quality for the species, and nearly impossible to obtain on the market. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12217). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
