Item Description

Good blue tourmaline is the rarest sort from Afghani pegmatites. This is a excellent and aethetic example of bi-colored indicolite in combination from Afghanistan. The highly lustrous, well-striated 4.8 cm crystal is capped by a 3 mm, gorgeous, teal-blue gem zone below the supremely lustrous dark purple pinacoidal termination. The body is opaque, super-dark purple/black with translucent streaks of green. The indicolite is partially encased in albite and strikingly accented with opposing pearlescent grayish-green muscovite books and a very nifty cluster of smaller indicolites. Complete-all-around, the indicolite is pristine. The contact on one face has no damage, per se. This is an excellent combination example of the species and locale. Valued $1000-1250. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
