Item Description

Tourmaline is found all over the world, in every color of the rainbow, but the world-famous Pederneira Mine is celebrated for the superior quality and size of the various Tourmaline crystals it has produced. Here we have a classic gemmy Indicolite Tourmaline from circa 2010 finds. The lustrous, striated, steel-blue prismatic trigonal crystal are is fairly gemmy, and when backlit you can see it has a thin purple "cap" on one end, which is one of the rarest colors to find in Tourmaline. The piece is doubly-terminated, essentially a complete "floater". A tiny amount of soft lilac colored Lepidolite is present for a nice touch. There are a few clean repairs on the piece, which is certainly acceptable in the context of these crystals, Keep in mind that a large percentage of Tourmalines from Pederneira are repaired, so this is common. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, luster and striations. Better in person! Specimen weight is 12.81 grams. A fine, classic gem Pederneira Indicolite.
