Item Description

You can find Tourmaline crystals from many localities in the world, but the prodigious Pederneira Mine in Brazil has been producing some of the most iconic Tourmaline specimens ever found for a couple decades. The best of these amazing Tourmalines are celebrated for the superior quality and size of crystals that are found in a rainbow of colors. This beautiful and aesthetic piece features a GEM QUALITY Indicolite Tourmaline measuring 3.6 cm, along with a couple of secondary smaller Indicolites, aesthetically sitting on a sharp, lustrous, doubly-terminated, colorless Quartz crystal with a secondary Quartz flaring off the side. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the specimen is the fact that is NOT REPAIRED! So many pieces from this locality have to be glued back together due to the nature of the pockets being collapsed when they are found, so when you have an un-repaired specimen like this, especially with multiple crystals(!), it's a big deal. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph / video correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster and color. Better in person! A fine, classic matrix Pederneira Indicolite specimen. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
