Item Description

Stunning, iridescent, sharp, mostly golden chalcopyrite sphenoids form a sculptural and RARE thumbnail from this less well-known tungsten-copper district mine. Hints of iridescent magenta really add color and pizzazz to this cutie. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6051 and acquired from well-known Canadian Africa dealer, Prosper Williams, in Toronto in 1969. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Mineral specimens of any variety are seldom on the market from this mine and this is an exceptional chalcopyrite, that compares with the best from any locale. The piece has multiple fine display views.
