Item Description

Striking, iridescent, galena cubes to 1.0 cm are richly and attractively sprinkled on the mounded limestone matrix. The galena cubes are accented by sparkly drusy quartz, siderite and ankerite crystals. This is a classic combination specimen from this famous and historic Alston Moor locale - the Smallcleugh Mine. Iridescent galena is very uncommon from this noted locale and many of the crystals have modified corners. Ex Wes Parker Collection. Valued at $350-400.
