Item Description

Psychedelic iridescent rainbow of colors on the botryoids covering this sculptural, large, two-sided tapered rib from famous extinct Grave Mountain. The piece is a combination of goethite and hematite (once called turgite, but now discouraged). Such iridescent specimens are a signature species along with world-class Rutile and Lazulite from the locale. See the 1985 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 16, No. 6. You don't see much around anymore of this size and quality. A gorgeous play on colors on this large piece. Ex. John Whatley Georgia collection.
