Item Description

Beautiful multi-hued iridescent, striated, tabular hematite crystals cover this most colorful solid specimen of hematite disks from the ancient iron mines of Rio Marina. The large central disk is 1.4 cm wide on this striking specimen of charcoal-gray hematite crystals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1002 and acquired from the Lindemann Collection in the 1950s. Comes with a old handwritten Lindemann label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). This is a RARE, classic and exceptional style and color of hematite from Rio Marina.
