Item Description

Brilliant metallic boulangerite needles densely carpet the matrix on this very rich and showy example from this famous Zacactecas Mine. The rich ore matrix also includes pyritohedrons and quartz point. Common in the 1960s and early 70s, these are hard to obtain today. These were originally marketed as jamesonite, but X-ray work performed in 1971 showed the species is actually boulangerite. Ex Dennis Mullane Collection. The $10 price on his 1960s to early 70s label was not cheap.
