Item Description

Good crystallized examples of Jamesonite are NOT common the market, and the specimens from Zacatecas are among the most well-known and beloved Jamesonites in the world. This piece features superb, acicular groups of steel-grey Jamesonite sitting atop brass colored Pyrite. Good quality for the species, and certainly hard to find on the market. A wonderful example of this rare lead iron antimony sulfosalt. The largest crystal measures 1.2 cm long. This piece comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes mounted in a "Perky" box from Wulff with a typed lable on the base.
