Item Description

Jasper is defined as a reddish massive variety of Quartz or a siliceous Chert in some cases. It's more of a lapidary name than an actual variety. This piece features golden-brown Jasper which has replaced a radial "ball" of bladed Barite, retaining the form of the original crystals perfectly. This is an unusual old-timer thumbnail specimen from Moab. Ex Wouter Van Tichelen Collection.
