Item Description

In late December 2016, a significant discovery of the very rare calcium manganese sulfate / carbonate Jouravskite was made at the N'Chwaning III Mine in South Africa. This discovery produced what are arguably the finest examples of the species ever known. It's important to note that Jouravskite has only been found in THREE other localities in the world outside of the N'Chwaning Mines, and before the 2016 discovery, specimens were virtually impossible to find on the market. This small cabinet sized specimen features gorgeous, lustrous, sharp, gemmy, strong lemon-yellow clusters of Jouravskite crystals sitting atop white "balls" of Xonotlite and a bit of pink Bultfonteinite on host rock matrix. The largest Jouravskite crystal measures 8 mm at it longest dimension, which is good sized for the species and the discovery. Very little damage and just gorgeous when viewed up close! Virtually no new specimens have been found at this mine since 2016, so don't miss out on this chance to get your hands on a gorgeous near full sized cabinet specimen of this rare and striking material. Priced in our inventory at $5,000 for the size and quality.
