Item Description

A wonderful specmen featuring micro reddish-purple crystals of "Kammererite" (now Chromian Clinochlore) associated with green Uvarovite (chromium-bearing Garnet) on chromite matrix from an unknown locality in San Benito County, California. The piece looks beautiful under magnification, and we've used a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to illustrate the quality. If you collect minerals of California or minerals that contain chromium, do NOT miss out on this one! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7990). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
