Item Description

A killer piece of the very hard to find Kidwellite specimens from Buckeye Mountain (Blaylock Mountain) in Arkansas. This piece features a wonderful central vug loaded with dozens of beautiful olive green, velvety, radiating "balls" of Kidwellite measuring up to about a few mm sitting on / with dark green colored Rockbridgeite surrounded by oxidized matrix. The reverse side of the specimen hosts an additional pair of vugs with mostly Rockbridgeite, though a small amount of Kidwellite can be seen in one of them. Additionally, what really makes the piece desirable and fine quality is the fantastic banding of various phosphate / oxidation layers creating highly attractive patterns on both sides of the piece. A truly impressive and excellent quality example of this wonderful old material that was mined in 1970s. A must have for any fan of worldwide phosphates ore minerals from Arkansas. For reference, the only specimens I've seen that are on the same level as this piece are those in the collection of Harvard University. Priced at $3,000 retail in our inventory.
