Item Description

Vivid, deep-azure microcrystals of the rare, copper silicate Kinoite highlight this miniature from this historic Arizona locality. The plentiful Kinoites are interspersed with hundreds of sharp, rectangular prisms of Fluorapophyllite, on matrix, creating a colorful, rich and impressive combination specimen. The best Kinoites, of which this is clearly one, came out for a short time in the 70s from the Christmas Mine, and specimens show up only rarely on the market. This is unusual for the deep, saturated color, mm-size crystals, and overall beauty, thus making it significant and rare. High-quality specimen for Kinoite, and the famed locality, this was #7510 in Kay's collection, acquired in 1975.
