Item Description

The extremely rare species Kochsandorite is only found in two places in the world, both of them in Hungary. This specimen is from the type locality featuring white acicular fibres of this hydrated calcium aluminum carbonate on coal/shale matrix. The label suggests that the Kochsandorite has formed pseudomorphs after preexisting Bohmite. You just don't have the opportunity to purchase specimens of this material, period. We RARELY have a piece of this material to offer, and if you're a rare species collector, or if you collect minerals from the type locality, don't miss out on this one. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value.
