Item Description

This is a very attractive doubly-terminated, gemmy Kunzite crystal from Afghanistan. The crystal is very lightly colored, (it's nearly colorless), but if you look closely under good lighting, you'll see the majority of the prism shows a pale pinkish-purple hue, with slight pale greenish tones on one end. You rarely see such well-formed doubly-terminated Kunzite crystals from any locality (especially a bi-colored crystal), as they are often heavily etched, so their original crystal form no longer can be seen. The form and gemminess make this piece a great example from this most prolific gem producing region. A very attractive representation of this classic material. It's important to note that good crystallized Kunzites are literally only found in a few places on earth (Brazil, San Diego County and Afghanistan) in any real quantity. The specimen was priced at $850 in the inventory. Specimen weight is 52.58 grams.
