Item Description

A beautiful, sharp, GEM QUALITY, lustrous, etched crystal of soft pink ish-purple Kunzite (a variety of Spodumene) from the Urucum Mine. The crystal appears to be damage free all the way around, and the elegant tapered form gives it real character. Good thumbnails of Kunzite are very difficult to find from any world locality, and Brazil is no different. A showy and just plain pretty piece of this classic material. There are really only three places in the world for fine quality GEM Kunzite specimens: Afghanistan, San Diego County, California and Brazil. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
