Kyanite (bicolor)

This gem is rarely seen in faceted stones from anywhere in the world let alone in such a rich color. Kyanite is an exceptionally rare stone mostly occurring in Brazil as included pale blue to colorless gems. This stone is from Nepal of all places and is a great Sapphire Blue color, and one of the best for Kyanite that I have seen. This "Cushion Cabochon" cut gem has a unique deep blue color with a lighter whitish-blue and almost colorless area on the side of the stone. The stone is gem quality and the color is pretty good for the material. These stones are becoming very difficult to find in today's market, and stones over 2 carats (let alone a stone close to 10 carats!) are even harder to obtain.
