Item Description

Most people are typically not used to seeing gemmy blue Kyanites from the Swiss Alps, but the pieces from Pizzo Forno are world famous and very hard to find on the market. The main crystal on this specimen is notably BLUE and GEMMY and measures a full 2.7 cm on "Paragonite" mica. A few additional Kyanites can be seen on the backside, but the main crystal is the focal point. Valued at $1,250. If you collect gem crystals or minerals of the Alps, or just minerals from unlikely localities, don't miss out on this one! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5932). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
