Item Description

A dramatic and RARE large amethyst scepter from this obscure Bahia, Brazil locale. The large, glassy, doubly terminated scepter is transparent to translucent and has pretty variable purple color. All sides of the scepter have striking skeletal and cavernous features and some sides have incredible preferential iron oxide coatings. The frosted glassy stalk is slightly bent and the one contacted face is out-of-sight. It resembles Brandberg, Namibia material, but it's not. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, the scepter tip has just a bit of out-of-sight bruising and one lower prism face of the scepter is lightly dinged. Certainly not detracting to this impressive large and rare amethyst. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. A must for the species or locality collector.
