Item Description

Dense radial sprays of splendent, steel-gray arsenopyrite prisms with a light yellow appearance dramatically cover the large undulating specimen from the famous Huanzala Mine. The prisms reach 2.2 cm and have sharp chisels terminations. The prisms rest on a thin bed of tiny, splendent, brassy pyritohedrons, which adds more pizzazz to this very rich large combination. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition, given the crystal density. A small area with bruised crystals is noted, but certainly has minimal impact to the fine quality. Arsenopyrite specimens of the size, richness and crystal style are very uncommon from this noted locale. Ex Ted Bartels Collection.
