Item Description

A dramatic and important large azurite specimen from the famous mines at Bisbee. The vugs on both sides of the strikingly layered gossan matrix are totally covered with scintillating spherical aggregates of royal-blue and navy-blue azurite. The bit of malachite on one side is a colorful and fine compliment. This is old-time, classic material from the Dennis Mullane Bisbee Collection and probably dates to prior to World War II. Seldom available in this size and quality at auction. Fairly valued at $1000-1500. 5.3 pounds or 2.4 kilos.
