Item Description

Brucite from the Wood's Chrome Mine is an early U.S. classic mineral species, with fine specimens produced from the 1830s to the mine closing in 1881. This dramatic and outstanding large piece features striking, separated parallel-growth clusters of very sharp, translucent, pastel-yellow to gray, large blades with waxy luster of this rarely crystallized species. The blades are all terminated and pristine. This specimen is notable for the locality and is an eminently displayable, very attractive piece as well. These specimens often are dear to collectors of antique US minerals and localities. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Valued at $1500-2000 for size, rarity and quality.
