An impressive and sculptural large intergrown cluster of calcite crystals aesthetically accented with contrasting purple fluorite from the famous Denton Mine. The striking stepped-growth, highly lustrous and glassy terminated crystals are gemmy to translucent and have rich golden color. The impressive large crystal is 9.2 cm and the stepped-growth crystals look like alligator's hide! The calcites are very nearly pristine, with only trivial rubbing on the tip of the large crystal and a small bruise on the side of a secondary crystal. This piece looks great, either vertically or horizontally. Classic and most excellent large Denton Mine calcite from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection from the 1980s and 90s finds.
