Large Chalcedony stalactite

An impressive, large, multi-hued and multi-layered, translucent chalcedony stalactite from a recent find in Java, Indonesia. The flutes and nubs on the sides are noteworthy. The broken base reveals the large-diameter hollow tube (7 mm), where the silica-rich solutions flowed to form the stalactite. This one has colors from tan to lavender. Pristine. Dramatic, colorful and unusual material from an exotic locale for mineral specimens! We have seen similar sold at Tucson this year as "Fossil Bamboo" in the $700-1000 range.
