Item Description

A very large, striated, lustrous, translucent to opaque, two-toned blue euclase crystal from the Lost Hope Mine of Zimbabwe. The two blue colors are vivid, which the backlit photos highlight. It is a pristine, relatively sharp, complete all-around and doubly terminated crystal. This is the classic locality that has produced by far and away the world's most intense blue crystals of the species. Specimens of this quality and color variety came out from the 1960s to late 1980s, with very little found as a trickle since (and those mostly of the same habit but a much paler, although attractive, pastel blue color with deep blue highlights only). Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Value of such a large crystal???
