Large floater Spinel xl

A large, gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, cranberry-red spinel crystal from recent finds Vietnam. Recently, the various gem tracts around Luc Yen have produced some impressive spinel crystals. These are easily some of the largest individual spinel crystals to come out of any locality. This specimen has textbook, sharp octahedral crystal form. It is difficult to find crystals this size that pass light in my experience from Luc Yen. A pristine, floater crystal, with some contacting, but no damage, per se. A CLASSIC, large spinel with excellent color. 17 grams. This would be one of the larger spinels from this locality with any translucency, from what I have seen, and should thus have significant value for this reason aside from its base value as just a big, sharp, floater spinel crystal.
